A quick and easy checkout is an important requirement for a good conversion. It is all the more painful when customers cancel their purchase early because they lack the last bit of trust in your offer.
The Trusted Shops Trustmark and the associated Buyer Protection create this trust and ensure a secure feeling.
To make the most of this effect during checkout, you can add the "Trusted Checkout" widget to your website. It strengthens customer trust at the most sensitive moment of the shopping experience and thus increases your conversion rate.
How do I integrate Trusted Checkout into my website?
Step 1: Generating a widget code
- Log in to the eTrusted Control Centre.
- Click on the star ("Reviews") () in the main navigation menu. Then click on "Marketing" ().
- Open the "Widgets" tab ().
- Click on the "Create" button on the "Trusted Checkout" widget.
- The configuration mode for the widget will then open. Select the colour scheme () in which the widget should be displayed:
- Select "Light" if the widget should always be displayed in the standard colour scheme.
- Select "Dark" if the widget should always be displayed in dark mode.
- Select "OS default" if you want your customers’ dark mode settings to determine whether or not the widget is displayed in dark mode. - Do you want to use your website's font in the widget? Then tick "Apply your website’s font" ().

Step 2: Integrating the widget code into your website
To display the widget on your website, HTML and JavaScript code must be integrated into the header and body of your website's HTML. You can find the code snippets you need for this in the overview "How to integrate the widget into your website", which will open after your widget code has been generated.
Would you like to integrate your widget code into the HTML of your website yourself? Then follow these steps:
- Click the document icon at the top of the code field to copy the code snippet to your clipboard.
- In your webpage HTML, open the header section. Insert the code snippet into the header section.
- Return to the overview "How to integrate the widget into your website". Click the document icon in the lower code box to copy the code snippet to your clipboard.
- Within your website's HTML, open the body section of the desired checkout page. Paste the copied code snippet into the body section where you want to put the widget.
Here are some examples of the widget:
