Using Trusted Shops with JTL 5


To start, download the latest version of the free Trusted Shops plugin for JTL 5 here.

To stay up to date at all times and be informed about available plugin updates, download the plugin directly from the JTL Extension Store. Click here to download.

Then log into your JTL backend and click on the menu item "Plug-in manager" in the main navigation on the left side under "Plug-ins".


First select the "Upload" tab in the plug-in manager. Then click on the "Browse" button.


A window will then open. In this window you can search on your computer for the plug-in that you have previously downloaded. Select the entire downloaded ZIP folder. You don’t need to unzip it first. Then click on "Upload".


Your JTL backend will then upload the Trusted Shops plugin on its own. As soon as the upload is successfully completed, the message "Plugin erfolgreich hochgeladen (Plugin successfully uploaded)” will appear.


Then switch to the "Available" tab. There you will find a list of plugins uploaded to your backend. Place a tick in the small box next to the Trusted Shops plugin and then click on the "Installieren (Install)" button.


Once installed, the Trusted Shops plugin is automatically activated. To access the configuration, you must now switch to the "Active" tab. There, click on the small gearwheels ("Settings") in the "Interactions" column.



Next, we will show you how you can display the Trustbadge® technology and configure it according to your individual requirements:

Show Trustbadge, integrate guarantee & collect shop reviews

The unique Trustbadge® technology makes it so simple to collect, manage and display your customer reviews in your shop. You can also easily integrate your trustmark and offer the guarantee.

To display the Trustbadge in your shop, first click on the "Konfiguration (Configuration)" tab in the Trusted Shops plugin. Then enter your individual Trusted Shops ID in the input field in the "Install Trusted Shops IDs" area. 

You can find your Trusted Shops ID in your dashboard in the My Trusted Shops backend. To do this, first log in to My Trusted Shops here. After logging in, you will be taken directly to the dashboard. In the right column of the dashboard, your shops which are registered with Trusted Shops are listed, with their respective Trusted Shops ID.

Now, you need to select the language of your shop which you want to configure (e.g. "English"). 


Now click on “Add" to complete the configuration.

Do you sell the products in your shop in different languages? Here we explain how you can configure this with Trusted Shops.

After successfully inputting your Trusted Shops ID, the plugin automatically jumps to the tab "Erweiterte Konfiguration (Advanced configuration)" and displays the confirmation message "Die ID: X... wurde angelegt! (The ID: X... has been created!)”.


In the section "Trusted Shops Integration" you can see which shop you are currently configuring. In addition, you can choose between standard and expert mode via the "Mode” drop-down menu.

Expert mode offers more options, but also requires advanced knowledge of code.

In the "Configure your Trustbadge" area, you can activate the Trustbadge and customise it according to your wishes.


Under "Variante (Variant)" (01_16x16.png) you can select whether the Trustbadge should be displayed with or without star ratings.


By default, the Trustbadge is displayed in the lower right corner of the shop. The Trustbadge can be moved upwards at the right edge of the screen by adjusting the input in the field "Y-Offset" (02_16x16.png). Click on "Save and continue editing" to implement the adjustments. 

Once you have completed these steps, you can now test the function of your Trustbadge. To do this, place a test order in your shop. If the Trustcard (“Guarantee Card") appears at the end of your order, you have successfully integrated the Trustbadge into your shop, the Buyer Protection is active and shop reviews are collected.


Collect and view Product Reviews

To collect and display not only shop reviews but also Product Reviews, activate the item "Collect Product Reviews" in the section "Configure your Product Reviews".


Then "Show Product Reviews in an additional tab on the product page" and "Show Product Review Stars on the product page" will open.

Product Reviews on the product detail page


In order to include the customer comments collected for a product via an additional tab on the product detail page, you must activate the selection "Show Product Reviews in an additional tab on the product page".


After you have activated the integration on the product detail pages, you can configure the display according to your wishes in the following step.


Under "Name for review tab" you can determine under which name the tab should be displayed on the product detail pages (e.g. "What our customers say") (01_16x16.png). Furthermore, you have the possibility to adjust the colours of the frame (02_16x16.png) and the star ratings (03_16x16.png) to your shop design. To do this, either enter the hexadecimal code directly into the input field or select the desired colour by clicking on the colour selection field. You can also adjust the size (in px) of the stars displayed (04_16x16.png). If you activate the option "Hide empty sticker" (05_16x16.png), the review tab will only be displayed if there is at least one review for the corresponding product. If the field is not activated, the review tab will be displayed, but instead will only contain the note that there are no reviews yet.

Product Star Ratings


If you want to display the corresponding star ratings on the product page under the name of the product, activate "Show Product Review Stars on the product page".


Now you have the possibility to configure the display of the star ratings for product reviews according to your wishes.


If you activate the "Hide empty Star Ratings" (04_16x16.png) option, the star ratings will only be displayed if there is at least one review for the corresponding product. If the field is not activated, stars are greyed out until the first review is received.

You can also individually set the colour (01_16x16.png) and size (02_16x16.png) (in px) of the Reviews Stars as well as the font size (03_16x16.png).

Show Shop Review Sticker with rating comments

To display the collected shop reviews prominently in your shop, you can also integrate the Shop Review Sticker provided by Trusted Shops.

To do this, go to the "Review Sticker" area in the "Configure more of your products" section. There, you will need to activate the option "Activate Review Sticker".


Then, a menu opens which allows you to adapt your shop’s presentation of the Shop Review Sticker to your needs.


The "Testimonial Sticker" is already preselected as a "Variant" (01_16x16.png). Under "Position" (02_16x16.png), you can choose whether the Shop Review Sticker should be displayed in the left or right sidebar. In the menu, you can also select the desired font (03_16x16.png) and indicate how many review comments you would like to display in rotation (04_16x16.png). Up to five reviews are possible. In addition, you can determine the minimum rating (05_16x16.png) for reviews to be displayed (from 1 for “very poor" to 5 for “excellent").

You can also adapt the background colour (06_16x16.png) of the Shop Review Sticker to the design of your shop. To do this, either enter the hexadecimal value or simply select your desired colour by clicking on the colour field. To complete your changes, click "Save".

The Review Sticker is then displayed in the sidebar on the category page of your online shop:


Configure language shops with multiple Trusted Shops IDs

Do you sell your products in different languages? Then you will be using multiple Trusted Shops IDs. Here you will learn how to configure your shop individually with several Trusted Shop IDs.

To configure a shop with multiple languages, it is essential that you have added additional languages in your JTL-Wawi. You can find out how to store other languages in of your JTL-Wawi here (in German).

Once you have set up your language stores in JTL-Wawi, go to the "Configuration" tab in the Trusted Shops plugin and enter another Trusted Shops ID (01_16x16.png) for the language shop you now want to configure. Then select the language of the shop in the dropdown (02_16x16.png) and click on "Add" (03_16x16.png).


The newly entered Trusted Shops ID will now also appear under "Manage Trusted Shops IDs". Now you can configure all your language shops - independent of your main shop - according to your individual needs.
