One question in advance: Do you use the ShopBuilder offered by plentymarkets to set up your online shop? The answer to this question is very important when it comes to the configuration of the Trusted Shops plugin. That’s because the steps you need to take are different depending on whether or not you use ShopBuilder.
On this page you will find the integration guidelines you will need if you are using ShopBuilder. If you are NOT using ShopBuilder, please follow these instructions.
Installation
Add & install Plugin
First of all, you have to add the Trusted Shops plugin to your plentymarkets backend. Please visit the plentymarkets marketplace. Search for the Trusted Shops plugin by opening the search function using the small magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner and searching for "Trusted Shops". Select the "Trusted Shops Reviews Toolkit" from the search results.
To download the plugin, you will need to click on the blue button "Go to checkout" on the Marketplace overview page for the Trusted Shops plugin. This opens an input field where you can log in to the Marketplace with your plentymarkets access data.
A pop-up window will then appear in which you must confirm the action again. To do this, click on the "Order now" button. Don’t worry about the text on this button, the Trusted Shops plugin is of course free for you.
After confirmation, the Trusted Shops plugin is automatically added to your plentymarkets backend. However, it still needs to be installed. Log into your plentymarkets backend to complete the installation. First select the menu item "Plugins" in the navigation bar at the top. In the drop-down menu that now opens, click on the menu item "Plugin overview" (). This opens a new overview page. Within this overview, enter "Trusted Shops" in the search field () and check the box "Not installed" (). Then carry out the search.
Now the "Trusted Shops Reviews Toolkit" will be displayed. Start the installation by clicking on the grey button with the downward pointing arrow.
Once the plugin has been successfully installed, you still need to activate it. Click on the small globe next to the "Trusted Shops Reviews Toolkit".
Then the message "Plugin active" will appear. Now the plugin set must be saved and made available. To do this, click on the button with the diskette icon above the plugin list. The subsequent saving process may take a few minutes. After this has saved successfully, the plugin is completely installed and you can start the configuration.
Configuration
In the following we will show you how to display the Trustbadge® in your online shop and how to configure it according to your individual wishes.
- Show Trustbadge, integrate Buyer Protection & collect shop reviews
- Collect and display Product Reviews
- Show Shop Review Sticker with rating comments
- Configure multi-shops with multiple Trusted Shops IDs
You will need to do the following for each Trusted Shops element. First use the Trusted Shops plugin to choose the way you want the Trusted Shops elements to look, so that the elements are coordinated to the look of your shop. Then use ShopBuilder to define where in the shop you want the elements to be displayed.
Show Trustbadge, integrate Buyer Protection & collect shop reviews
The unique Trustbadge® technology makes it so simple to collect, manage and display your customer reviews in your shop. You can also easily integrate your trustmark and offer the Buyer Protection.
To do this, you will need to open the Trusted Shops Plugin in your plentymarkets backend. First select the menu item "Setup" () in the main navigation at the top. This will open another navigation bar on the left side. Now click on the menu item "Client" () and then on "Settings" (). Select the menu item "Trusted Shops" in the menu tree that opens up.
This opens an input field. Now enter your Trusted Shops ID in the input field provided ().
Use the two drop-down menus to select the shop belonging to the ID () and the language of the shop (). Next, click on the "Save" button.
In the following view, the Trusted Shops ID that you have just saved will be listed. Click on the "Edit" button to get to the configuration.
In the section "Configure the Trustbadge for your shop" you can customise the Trustbadge according to your needs.
Under "Trustbadge variants" () you can choose whether the Trustbadge is to be displayed with or without star ratings. If you choose "Display Trustbadge with review stars", the Trustbadge is displayed with star ratings.
By selecting "Display Trustbadge without review stars", you select the display mode without star ratings.
Save your selection. The Trustbadge is now successfully configured. However, the display in the frontend must still be activated using ShopBuilder. To do this, select the menu item "CMS" in the main navigation on the plentymarkets backend. Click on the menu item "ShopBuilder" in the drop-down menu that now opens.
In ShopBuilder you will find an overview navigation on the left side, which lists the individual categories. Select the menu item "Homepage" ().
Do you manage several different shops in your plentymarkets backend? Then you will need to make sure that the correct client () is selected.
For the placement of the Trustbadge, a global element should be chosen that is equally visible on all pages in the shop. Usually this is the footer. If you want to position the Trustbadge in the footer, you must add a footer element – if you don’t already have one. Click on "Footer elements". A new window will open. Select "New" here.
The creation of a new footer is only necessary if a footer has not yet been created using ShopBuilder. If you have already created a footer for your shop using ShopBuilder, you can integrate the Trustbadge into it.
Assign a content name (e.g. "Footer") () and select the template "Footer Ceres" (). Then click on "Save".
You have now created a new Footer element. To include the Trustbadge in this element, select your footer element.
In the view that now appears, open the dropdown menu "Trusted Shops" (), which is located on the left in the navigation. Then click on the widget "Trusted Shops Badge" () and drag & drop it to the desired position within the footer ().
The following screenshot shows an exemplary placement in the footer (). Once you have decided on a positioning, save your settings using the button with the diskette icon ().
The screenshots of the Trusted Shops elements in ShopBuilder are used as illustrative examples only. In your shop the element will be displayed according to your configuration.
Now the new footer element needs to be activated. If you are already using an active footer, this step is not necessary. You will need to define which shop content the footer should be displayed for. To do this, switch back to the main view of ShopBuilder by clicking on "ShopBuilder" in the upper left corner.
In the main view, move your cursor to the newly created footer element and click on the button with the eye ("Activate").
In the window that now opens, you can define for which contents the footer should be activated. Since the footer should be activated globally on all pages, select "All contents" () and then click on "Activate" ().
Now you have successfully placed the Trustbadge in the footer of your shop.
Have you created multiple footers in ShopBuilder? Then you will also need to integrate the widget "Trusted Shops Badge" into all of your footers.
Can’t see the Trustbadge in your shop? Then make sure that there is no container link active for the Trustbadge. To do this, click on the menu item "CMS" in the main navigation of your backend and in the drop-down menu that opens click on "Container Shortcuts". Open the container "Trustbadge (TrustedShops)" by clicking on the small arrow next to the name. Now search for "Script loader: After scripts loaded". Is there a check mark here? If yes, then uncheck this.
If you have created your order confirmation page in ShopBuilder, you now need to position the Buyer Protection widget there to activate the Buyer Protection offered by Trusted Shops. If you have not yet created an order confirmation page using ShopBuilder, you can do so now. Go to the main view of ShopBuilder and click on the "+" ("Create new category") in the navigation on the left side. If you do not want to create your checkout in ShopBuilder, you can position the Buyer Protection using a container link. The instructions can be found here.
The creation of a new order confirmation page is only necessary if you have not yet created an order confirmation page using ShopBuilder. If you have already created an order confirmation page, you can of course integrate the Buyer Protection into it.
In the input field that now opens, first define a category name (e.g. "Order confirmation") (). Select "Content" () as the category type and identify the newly generated category as "Main Page" (). Then click on "Create".
In the settings overview of the category, select the client for which the new category should apply and save your selection by clicking the button with the diskette icon.
Then return to the main view of ShopBuilder. Click on the new category "Order confirmation" () in the navigation on the left side. Under "Contents for Order confirmation" you can now add a new element by clicking on "New" ().
In the selection that now opens, select "Content" () as the type. Then enter a content name such as "Order confirmation" () and select the template "Order confirmation (Ceres)" (). Now click on “Save”.
Next, select the newly created order confirmation element. Open the drop-down menu "Trusted Shops" () in the navigation on the left side. Then click on the widget "Trusted Shops Buyer Protection" () and drag & drop it to the desired position within your shop ().
The following screenshot shows an exemplary placement (). Once you have integrated the widget at the desired position, click on the button with the diskette icon () to save your selection.
The Buyer Protection card is not permanently visible; it only appears once an order has been placed.
Lastly, you need to activate the order confirmation element. If you already use an active order confirmation, this step is not necessary. Move your cursor to the new order confirmation element and click on the button with the eye ("Activate").
Once you have completed these steps, you can now test the function of your Trustbadge. For this purpose, please carry out a test order in your shop. When the Trustcard (“Buyer Protection Card") appears at the end of your order, you have integrated the Trustbadge into your shop and the Buyer Protection is active.
Can’t see the Trustcard in your shop? Then make sure that there is no container link active for the Trustcard. To do this, click on the menu item "CMS" in the main navigation of your backend and in the drop-down menu that opens click on "Container Shortcuts". Open the container "Checkout Trustcard (TrustedShops)" by clicking on the small arrow next to the name. Now search for "Order confirmation: Add content before 'Back to Homepage' link". Is there a check mark here? If yes, then uncheck this.
Collect and display Product Reviews
To configure the Product Reviews, first open the Trusted Shops plugin using the click path "Setup" → "Client" → "Settings" → "Trusted Shops".
Now click on the "Edit" button next to the Trusted Shops ID you want to configure within the Trusted Shops plugin.
Next, scroll down to the section "Configure Product Reviews" and put a check mark in "Collect Product Reviews".
A pop-up window will then appear informing you that you must first unlock the Product Reviews in your My-Trusted Shops account in order to use them. Click on the "Close" button to close the window.
Then open the two selection options "Show Product Reviews on the Product Detail page on an additional tab" () and "Show Star ratings on the Product Name" ().
Show Product Reviews on the Product Detail page on an additional tab
The option "Show Product Reviews on the Product Detail page on an additional tab" gives you the option to include your collected customer reviews on a specific product using an additional tab on the respective product detail page.
To enable this feature, you have to check the corresponding option in the plugin. As soon as you have activated the integration on the product detail pages, you can configure the display according to your wishes in the following step.
Under "Name of Product Reviews Tab" () you can determine under which name the tab should be displayed on the product detail pages (e.g. "What our customers say").
This setting is only used if you have created the container link. If you use the ShopBuilder widget, the additional tab must be configured within ShopBuilder. We explain how you can do this here.
In addition, you have the option of customising the colours of the frame (), the star ratings () and the background () to your shop design. To do this, either enter the hexadecimal code directly into the corresponding input field or select the desired colour by clicking on the colour selection field.
Show Star ratings on the Product Name
With the option "Show Star ratings on the Product Name" you have the option of showing the star ratings for a specific product on the product detail page.
To activate this function, you need to check the corresponding option in the plugin. As soon as you have activated the feature, you can adapt the display as desired in the following step.
The colour () and size (in px) of the star ratings () as well as the font size () can be set individually within the input field. If you activate the option "Hide empty Star Ratings"(), the star ratings are only displayed if at least one review is available for the corresponding product. If the field is not activated, stars are greyed out until the first review is received.
Placement of Product Reviews and Product Review Stars with ShopBuilder
You have now completed all the necessary settings in the Trusted Shops plugin. However, the display in the frontend must still be activated using ShopBuilder. To do this, select the menu item "CMS" in the main navigation. Click on the menu item "ShopBuilder" in the drop-down menu that now opens.
Now select any product category () in ShopBuilder navigation on the left side and generate new content by clicking the "New" button ().
The creation of a new item view is only necessary if you have not yet generated an item view using ShopBuilder. If you have already created an item view, you can integrate the Product Reviews and the Product Review Stars into this.
In the selection that now opens, select "Item view" () as the type. Then enter a content name such as "Item view" () and select the template "Single item (Ceres)" (). Now click on "Save".
Next, select the newly created element. Then click on the element on which several product tabs can be seen and use the grey settings button with the gear wheel. This opens a new settings window () on the right side of the screen. To add the Trusted Shops Product Review tab, click on the "+" within this window.
You have now created the tab. Now select it by clicking on ().
Next, close the settings menu for tabs by clicking on the "x".
Open the drop-down menu "Trusted Shops" () in the navigation on the left side. Then click on the "Trusted Shops Product Reviews" widget () and drag it to the location you just created with the newly added tab ().
Then select the "Trusted Shops Product Stars" () widget and drag & drop it to the desired location in your shop ().
Then save your settings using the button with the diskette icon and switch back to the ShopBuilder main view. Here you will still have to activate the new item view element. To do this, move your cursor to the new element and click on the button with the eye ("Activate").
In the next step you have to define for which items (categories) the item view should be used. Click "Activate" once you have chosen.
Have you created several item view elements in ShopBuilder, for example to be able to work with different item views for different product categories? Then please integrate the widgets "Trusted Shops Product Reviews" and "Trusted Shops Product Stars" into all your item view elements as well.
Don’t see Product Reviews in your shop? Then make sure that there are no active container links for Product Reviews. To do this, click on the menu item "CMS" in the main navigation of your backend and in the drop-down menu that opens click on "Container Shortcuts". Open the container "Product Reviews on the product detail page (TrustedShops)" by clicking on the small arrow next to the name. Now search for "Single item: Container for items lists". Is there a check mark here? If yes, then uncheck this. Or are there no Product Review Stars displayed in your shop? Then open the container "Product Review Stars on the product detail page (TrustedShops)". Now search for "Single item: After price". Is there a check mark here? If yes, then uncheck this.

Select your preferred font from the menu () and specify how many review comments you want to display in turn (). Up to five reviews are possible. In addition, determine the minimum rating at which reviews may be displayed - from 1 for "poor" to 5 for "very good" (). You can also adapt the background colour of the Shop Review Sticker to the design of your shop (). To do this, either enter the hexadecimal value or select your desired colour by clicking on the colour field. Click on "Save" to complete your adjustments.
