Using Trusted Shops with a plugin

Installation

In order to use our plugin, you must first install it. The installation method is different for each shop system. Follow these steps to install your plugin:

  1. Open Help Center article Integrate Trusted Shops into your shop.
  2. Use the logo list found there to open the corresponding instructions.
  3. Follow the steps in the corresponding instructions.
  4. Then return to this guide to configure your plugin.

Login

You must be a member of Trusted Shops in order to use the plugin. Not a member yet? Then click on the link „Not yet a customer?“ in the top right corner of the login screen. After clicking, you will be redirected to our website where you will find information on membership options.

To log in to the plugin, you need individual access data – the API client credentials. The API client credentials are not identical to your access data for the eTrusted Control Centre. Below, you will learn how to create your API client credentials and log in to the plugin with them.

  1. Open the plugin. The login screen appears.
  2. Click on „Request“.

  3. The eTrusted login page appears in a new browser tab. Enter your username (01_16x16.png), password (02_16x16.png), and click „Log in“ (03_16x16.png).

  4. The overview „Copy your client credentials“ appears in a pop-up window. Click on the top blue document icon to copy your Client ID to your cache.

  5. Switch to the browser tab with the plugin login page. Insert the cached Client ID into the field „Client ID“ by right-clicking and selecting “Insert”.

  6. Switch to the pop-up window with the overview „Copy your client credentials“. Click on the blue document icon below to copy your Client Secret to your cache.

  7. Switch to the browser tab with the plugin login page. Insert the cached Client Secret into the field „Client Secret“ (01_16x16.png) by right-clicking and selecting "Insert". Click „Connect“ (02_16x16.png).

  8. A pop-up window will appear. Link your sales channels registered with Trusted Shops (e.g. different language shops, domains) to the corresponding eTrusted channel using the drop-down menus (01_16x16.png). Then click „Save“ (02_16x16.png).

You must link at least one of your sales channels to eTrusted to be able to click on „Save“ . We advise you to link all of your sales channels to eTrusted before starting the configuration. Otherwise, the settings you have made will not be visible in your shop. You can change your links at any time via the tab „Settings“ within the plugin.

You have successfully logged into your plugin and linked the channels.

Configuration

Next, we will show you how you can display the Trustbadge® technology and configure it according to your individual requirements:

Display the Trustbadge, integrate Buyer Protection & collect shop reviews

trustmark%2Breviews_copy.pngUnique Trustbadge® technology makes it so simple to collect, manage and display customer reviews in your shop. You can also easily integrate your Trustmark and offer Buyer Protection.

  1. Within the plugin, open the tab „Trustbadge“.

  2. In the drop-down menu „Channel selected“ (01_16x16.png), select the sales channel for which you want to carry out the configuration.
You have the option of configuring individual settings for each of your sales channels. The configuration made for one channel will not be applied to your other sales channels. Do not forget to configure your other channels as well.
  1. Check that the switch is set to „active“ (02_16x16.png). This setting activates the Trustbadge.
  2. You now have several options for the Trustbadge configuration:
    • Select „Standard“ (03_16x16.png). In this case, the Trustbadge is displayed on the lower right corner of your shop in desktop view, and in the lower left corner of your shop in mobile view. If you would like to change this placement, you have various options:
      • Click on the drop-down menu „Placement for desktop users” (04_16x16.png). This allows you to decide whether the Trustbadge should be displayed on the right or left side in desktop view.
      • Click on the drop-down menu „Placement for mobile users” (05_16x16.png). This allows you to decide whether the Trustbadge should be displayed on the right or left side in mobile view.
      • Enter a number of pixels in the input fields „Move up by“ (06_16x16.png). This allows you move the Trustbadge up by the desired number of pixels in the respective display.
    • Select „Edit integration code“ (07_16x16.png). In this case, you can manually edit the Trustbadge code.
Manual editing of the code opens up more possibilities for you to adapt the integration, and display the Trustbadge in your shop to further suit your individual needs. Doing this requires advanced knowledge of code.   1. Click „Save changes“ (08_16x16.png).

Now, test the functioning of your Trustbadge. To do this, place a test order in your shop. When the Trustcard appears at the end of your order, you have successfully integrated the Trustbadge into your shop, Buyer Protection is active and shop reviews will be collected.

Collect Product Reviews

To be able to collect Product Reviews, you must first book them. Click here if you want to book Product Reviews.
  1. Open the tab „Review Invites“ within the plugin.
  2. Set the switch „Send Review Invites for products“ to „active“.

This means that product reviews are now collected automatically.

Display Service and Product Reviews in your shop

Numerous widgets are available to display your collected reviews and your overall rating in your shop. The widgets are customisable and the selection is constantly expanding.

Please note that the widgets intended for displaying Product Reviews are only available if you have booked Product Reviews.
  1. Within the plugin, open the tab „Widgets“.
If widgets are already set up for the selected sales channel, they will be displayed in the box „Current widgets“. If you have not yet configured widgets, the box will be empty.
  1. Click on „Create a new widget“. A pop-up window will appear.

  2. Click on Go to eTrusted“ and log into the eTrusted Control Centre. The eTrusted Control Centre's widget library appears.

  3. Select a widget and click on the corresponding button „Configure“ . The widget’s configuration overview appears.

  4. Configure the widget according to your wishes. Then click on „Create widget code“.

  5. Return to the plugin. Click on „Reload list“. The widget just generated is now listed in the box „Current widgets“.

Are there no widgets are listed in your box? Then please use the drop-down menu „Channel selected“ in the top left corner to check whether the correct sales channel has been selected.
  1. Use the drop-down menu „Location“ (01_16x16.png) to determine the pages and position in your shop on which the widget should appear.
  2. Are you currently configuring a Product Review widget? If yes, also use the drop-down menu „Product id“ (02_16x16.png) to determine which product label the widget should use to identify the products.

Would you like to see the widget before integrating it into your shop? Then move your cursor over the eye symbol (03_16x16.png) to see an example of the widget.
  1. Click on „Save changes“.

You have now successfully integrated the widget into your shop.

A whole range of information about your widgets is provided within the box „Current widgets“ . To make it easier for you to work with this information, we explain the structure of the box in the following figure and table.

01_16x16.png Widget Here you will find the name of the widget, as used in the eTrusted Control Centre.
02_16x16.png Product id In order to collect and display product reviews, eTrusted must be able to uniquely identify the products offered in your shop. At this point, you determine which product identification should be used. This setting is therefore only relevant if you want to display product reviews in your shop.

At this point of the line-up, you will be informed of the status of your widget. There are two possibilities:

  • Integrated: The widget has been successfully integrated into your shop.
  • Action required: The widget is not sufficiently configured. One possible cause for this announcement may be that no placement has been determined for the widget yet. Another reason may be that a widget previously placed in the eTrusted Control Centre has been deleted.

The placement of the widget within your shop is determined here. Possibilities include product pages, the checkout page, and the header or footer, for example.

Optimised sending of review invites

Adjust the sending time of review invites

This function is not supported by all shop systems. It is currently available for the following shop systems: JTL-Store

You can optimise the sending time of your review invites, as well as the email reminding your customers of their concluded Buyer Protection. Here you link the shipping times to the estimated delivery date that is stored in your shop system. This increases the probability that your customers will not receive a review invite and the Buyer Protection e-mail until they have received their order.

If you link the shipping times to the eestimated delivery date, the Buyer Protection e-mail will be sent the day after the estimated delivery date. In addition, on the day of the estimated delivery date, the sending delay set in your invitation rule for sending review invites will start.

  1. Within the plugin, open the tab „Review Invites“ .
  2. Select „Use Estimated Delivery Date to send Review Invites“ (01_16x16.png).
  3. Click on „Save changes“.

This means that you linked the sending date of your review invite and the Buyer Protection email to the estimated delivery date.

Do you not want to link the sending date of the review invites to the estimated delivery date?

  1. Select „Do not use Estimated Delivery date to send Review Invites“ (02_16x16.png).
  2. Click on „Save changes“.

Manually send review invites

If you do not want to collect your reviews automatically, or you want to manually invite customers to submit reviews in addition to the automated sending of invitations, you can use the Review Collector. To do this, you need a CSV file with data on the customers you would like to send review invites to. You can create this CSV file using the plugin.

  1. Within the plugin, open the tab „Review Invites“.
  2. Scroll to area „Send Review Invites for previous orders“.
  3. Use the selection field „Export orders“ (01_16x16.png) to define the period for which order data is to be exported.
  4. Click „Export“ (02_16x16.png). The CSV file is downloaded.

  5. Log in to the eTrusted Control Centre.

Additional settings options

Link sales channels to eTrusted

  1. Within the plugin, open the tab „Settings“ .
  2. Scroll to area „Channel settings“.
  3. Link your sales channels (e.g. different language shops) to the corresponding eTrusted channel using the drop-down menus (01_16x16.png).
  4. Click on „Save changes“.

Unlink Trusted Shops

If you unlink your shop system from Trusted Shops, all settings will be lost. You cannot undo the deletion.
  1. Within the plugin, open the tab „Settings“.
  2. Scroll to area „Disconnect Trusted Shops“ .
  3. Click on „Disconnect“.
