What does the questionnaire for Product Reviews look like?

Product reviews offer a convenient way to collect feedback from your customers for your product catalogue and thereby increase sales of highly rated products. To collect product reviews, you can use the Product Review Questionnaire Template.

The Product Review Questionnaire Template automatically adapts to the respective product. The questions as well as suggested review comments are generated using artificial intelligence (AI). This results in more detailed and meaningful reviews instead of short, generic statements such as “Everything is fine” or “Great product”. These more detailed reviews not only support other customers in their purchasing decisions but also have a positive impact on your SEO rankings.

How is the questionnaire structured?

Your customers receive a review invite via email. They open the questionnaire via the link in the invite and are then guided step by step through the review process.

You can combine the invite to submit product reviews with the invite to submit service reviews. In this case, your customers first review your company’s service and then the individual products.

The questionnaire for a single product consists of the following components:

Star rating

First, the product is rated overall. To prevent incorrect reviews, the product name and an image of the product are displayed.  

The AI recognises products much more accurately when a product image is available. However, a product image can only be displayed if the URL of the image is passed to Trusted Shops within your integration. The rating is given using a star rating system. This is mandatory and cannot be skipped.

Three product-specific questions

After the star rating, three product-related questions follow. These are generated using AI and tailored to the respective product. Therefore, the questionnaire differs for each product.

At present, you cannot select or edit the product-specific questions yourself.

Answering the questions is optional for your customers and takes place in two steps: rating a product attribute and selecting statements. First, your customers choose a value on a scale. They can then select additional matching statements.

There are two types of scales:

  • Linear: e.g. to rate product quality (“Poor” to “Excellent”)

  • Symmetrical: e.g. to rate the fit of a shoe (“Much too tight” via “Perfect fit” to “Much too wide”)

After selecting a scale value, matching statements are displayed:

  • Three to five suggestions appear.
  • Your customers can select none, one or multiple statements.

Review comment and product images

Once all product-specific questions have been completed, your customers can leave a review comment. To support this, the AI first generates a suggested text based on the previous answers and selected statements. Your customers can use this suggestion, edit it partially, or write a completely new text.

In addition, product images can be uploaded. Both the comment and the images are optional.

Reviewing multiple products in sequence

If an order contains multiple products, your customers will first see an overview of all products. Within this overview, each product can be selected individually. The questionnaire described above is completed separately for each selected product. After each review, your customers return to the overview until all products have been reviewed and the thank-you message is displayed, or until they end the process.

Two time-delayed review invites can be useful, for example, if you want to give your customers enough time to form a well-founded opinion about the purchased product prior to receiving the review request.
