Do you run several online shops and sell the same products in them? If so, you can display collected product reviews across multiple channels – even in shops that use a different language. This increases the number of visible reviews per product and strengthens customer trust.
Follow these steps to display your product reviews across multiple channels:
- Check the prerequisites
- Perform an SKU check
- Optionally define channel groups
- Request activation
- Add the "Full Review List" widget
Step 1: Check the prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure the following requirements are met:
- You must have multiple channels registered with Trusted Shops (e.g. different domains or language-specific shops).
- Product Reviews must be booked for all channels in which you want to display the reviews.
- The "Full Review List" widget must be integrated in the relevant channels.
Step 2: Perform an SKU check
Product reviews are matched across channels using the Stock Keeping Unit (SKU).
Before requesting activation, make sure that identical products use exactly the same SKU in all relevant channels. Conversely, different products must have different SKUs across all channels.
Example: You use the SKU "HF-123" for dog food in two shops. In a third shop, you also use the SKU "HF-123", but there it refers to cat food. In this case, reviews for dog food would appear on the product detail page of the cat food product.
Step 3: Optionally define channel groups
If you operate multiple channels in different business areas, you can decide which channels should share product reviews.
In this case, you could define the following channel groups:
Group A: Dog food shops in Germany and the United Kingdom
Group B: Cat food shops in the United Kingdom, France and Poland
By creating groups, only channels within the same group share product reviews with each other. This prevents reviews from being exchanged between shops with different product ranges – even if identical SKUs are used.
Before requesting activation, decide which channels should share reviews and which groups you want to create.
Step 4: Request activation
Cross-channel display of product reviews is not activated automatically. Follow these steps to request activation:
- Send an email to members@trustedshops.com.
- Include the following information in your email:
- The company name registered with us
- The Channel IDs of all channels you want to include. You can find out where to locate the Channel ID here: How to retrieve your Channel ID
- The names of all channels you want to include
- If you want to define channel groups: Send separate lists for each channel group.
You have now successfully requested activation. Activation is carried out by Trusted Shops and may take several days.
Step 5: Add the "Full Review List" widget
Product reviews are only displayed in your shops once the "Full Review List" widget has been integrated. If you have not yet added the widget, you can find out how to do so here: How do I add widgets to my website?
How are translated product reviews displayed?
If the language of a target channel differs from the original language of the review, the review will be translated automatically.
- They are marked with an icon (
).
- When hovering over the icon with the cursor, a note appears indicating through which channel the review was collected (
).
- The "Show original" button allows the review to be displayed in its original language (
).
This ensures that both the content and the origin of the reviews remain transparent and traceable – even when displayed across different channels.
