Data protection guideline – Information about cookies

Trusted Shops offers various widgets (e.g., the Trustbadge) that can be integrated into your online presence. Below, we explain whether and how we use cookies and what information you should store in your consent management platform (CMP).

Use of cookies

Trusted Shops does not use cookies when integrating widgets and does not store any information in the local storage of website visitors' end devices. Only information that is necessary to display the widgets with all current information (e.g., current rating) is transmitted to a Trusted Shops domain. Further information on this can be found in the data protection guide - Display of Trusted Shops widgets.

Information for your consent management platform

If you use a CMP, you should store the Trustbadge there to inform your website visitors that data is being transmitted to Trusted Shops. If you do not yet use a CMP or are considering switching, please visit https://legal.trustedshops.com/leistungen/consent-manager for more information.

Service Name  Trusted Shops Trustbadge
Description of Service

This is a quality seal. It offers the Trusted Shops buyer protection and automatically collects the buyer’s email address to send review invites.

The Trustbadge accesses order information stored in the user’s terminal equipment (order total, order number, product purchased if applicable) and the user’s e-mail address after the order has been completed. The e-mail address is hashed using a cryptological one-way function. This serves to verify whether the user is already registered for Trusted Shops services. If this is the case, further processing will take place in accordance with the contractual agreement between the user and Trusted Shops. If the user is not yet registered for the services or do not give their consent to automatic recognition via the Trustbadge, they will subsequently be given the opportunity to register manually for the use of the services or to conclude the insurance as part of the possibly already existing user contract.
